How could ANYONE forget to leave a baby in a car!?! Or allow a baby to fall out a window from aRead More second or third floor apartment!?! We require drivers licenses for cars; we ought to require baby licenses for people to have children: they are too many unmarried teens and young adults walking around with babies from multiple fathers on welfare. People do not have an inherent right to have unlimited children. It's a privilege to be granted to only those financially and emotionally qualified to do so. Many people cannot even take care of themselves, no less children. I have no sympathy for that parent! For the child, yes, but not the parent. That parent should be fixed and never allowed to have any more children! That parent committed manslaughter, a capital crime!!!

sad story. unfortunately, not the first nor last.
Claudia Chapman July 9, 2014 at 06:26 pm
I'm aware that it's recommended that car seats be in the back seat because it's safer, in the eventRead More of an accident. But is it really safer to drive around, with your eyes on the road and unable to see your baby?

The millions in taxes for these wonderful magnet schools are really paying off. Kids are so muchRead More smarter in these safe and wonderful facilities that promote such higher learning. I also can't wait till Mary Jane is legal and then the cops won't have to bother with these pesky arrests. The millions in taxes for these wonderful magnet schools are really paying off. Kids are so muchRead More smarter in these safe and wonderful facilities that promote such higher learning. I also can't wait till Mary Jane is legal and then the cops won't have to bother with these pesky arrests. You know, as they apply to kids, just like the cigarette, alcohol, and cell phone laws everyone ignores. Not to get off track but is anyone doing the math as to how much is costs society when the concerts come to town? The amount of ER trips is staggering for kids who get drunk and high. Figure $2000 on average per concert goer who goes to the ER to sleep. Ask the ER staff how much they like working when these concerts are held. The Comcast should be required to hire a medical team with 200 beds and basic monitoring to allow the folks to sleep it off right on site rather than the needless ER visits. They can triage the bad ones and transport them...
Webster July 8, 2014 at 09:14 am
Get your facts straight. Marijuana is NOT SENDING kids to the ER at concerts- Ecstasy/Molly is. IRead More agree that Marijuana should be legalized, regulated and taxed the same way as alcohol, but Marijuana doesn't belong on school grounds in any form legal or not. Just as Alcohol or cigarettes don't belong on a school campus.

John certainly there is a difference between a domestic situation and a bank robbery. Im not intoRead More finding differences to rationalize and legitimize crimes. But in this case, my guess would be that he is suffering enough after losing his child. I understand that he is in the hospital suffering from shock and on suicide watch. If various rubberneckers feel that he needs to die as a result of this tragedy, then maybe they can go to the hospital and yell at him? I just find it rather weak to post annoymously and ask for the head of a man who I guess is beside himself with grief and anguish and self-loathing. If the media aids his suicide to appease you and Leenie etc then I hope you also feel that you should be outed later by the media as contributing to his sucicide by demanding he pay more repurcussions. Is that fair? And are you willing to be held up for scrutiny based on your actions and calls for action? (this is not a rhetorical question. Im interested to find out if you push for action and it ends in tragedy that you would also want yourself to be held accountable in the press?)

Yes ABG i do get your point that arabs /muslims have been terrorizing the world. I do actuallyRead More think that they get profiled. I think there is reason to profile them. I totally understand that. I think my response was not well written in that, at the end of the day, my experiences are that granny is rarely if ever searched and when she is, the media makes a big deal about it. Arabs are, and if I were Arab I would both be pist and understanding. The prison system is crazyily occupied by blacks. The question always is if they just get bad lawyers, are caught more often (the Bell Curve suggests that blacks are caught more often as opposed to do more crimes --and politically incorrectly attribute that to iq) etc. I dont have the answers. I think when you grow up in a crime ridden area with little hope youre more inclined to resort to crime. Im not sure it has to do with race as opposed to poverty. As far as traffic goes, the numbers above dont lead me to believe that there is anything crazy going on. And again the racial makeup of the police departments issuing the traffic tickets might also be examined. I.e are black officers handing out more tickets to whites, blacks, or in proportion? Are female or white etc officers more inclined to hand tickets out to -----------fill in the blank, females, white, black whatever. The big mistake is to observe a town such as New Canaan with a high white populatin away from highways and study data there, then to look at data in Darien which has I-95 running through it as well as route 1 and a pretty high-traffic area with rest stops etc and then analyze the data there as though the population is doing the arresting.

There are so many variables in these studies (porter has pointed out a few) that it makes the wholeRead More study useless and a waste of money. The big problem I see is people take the portion they want and run with it, but gloss over the parts that don't show their point in a favorable light.

No trial? What? I bet if a couple of kids came pointing to you and said "There he is, heRead More exposed himself to us" you would want a trial....I agree they are the worst of the worst but come on dude, what the hell are you thinking?
chuck July 2, 2014 at 09:01 pm
Yeah...I know...he's gonna get a trial. I'm just being a little over the top, but my frustrationRead More with the proliferation of these freaks has reached a new level. If caught and then found guilty, he should be castrated and imprisoned like I said. Sick of these molesters hovering around our playgrounds and ball fields.

How is this any different from photographers who take pics of celebrities sunbathing in the nude atRead More a private retreat. I don't see them going to jail. Or anyone who takes any picture of anyone when it's intruding their privacy. It's easy to come out with medieval reactions in this case but law needs to be clear and fair.

I love how people try ti justify doing stupid shit. I don't think wearing a normal skirt or dressRead More can be seen as revealing. These women were covered, not nude, not in a bikini. Just going about their business. There's no justification for what this guy did. Castration is a bit harsh though. Although if he's married his wife could think of something even more devastating.

How heartless can you be?? This is a form of mental illness, often triggered by a trauma. When you look at the amounts they obtained, and the length of time it took to get this money, theyRead More are truly idiots. It will cost them far more than what they got in legal fees alone to try and keep their sorry a$$es out of prison. That coupled with losing their jobs and having to pay restitution makes it a bad move to even think they could get away with it.

How many Fairfield county bankers went to jail after the housing bubble burst? I guess if itsRead More working class people this a major crime but if its a banker than no laws apply. The government maintains massive databases on everyone's communications. Why is it that the state and federal government database cross checking allowed this money to be paid out? Not enough computer nerds to write programs? The only way to underreport wages and receive compensation is to be partially unemployed. In that situation the state asks you to estimate wages and hours you will receive. If you are totally unemployed than it is not possible to be overpaid since the system determines your eligibility and payment by paperwork and computer. ...17,204 in benefits from January 2010 through January 2014. An average error of approximately $83 a week at $15 an hour about 5.5 hours over. Interestingly that appears to be close to the difference between 34 hours a week and 40 hours.
