Two bicyclists were injured by a car on Day Street near Creamery Hill in Granby about noon on Sunday, according to the Granby Police Department, which also said the car fled the scene.

Capt. William Tyler of the Granby Police said in a press release that police responded to a report of a "motor vehicle vs. bicycle crash on Day Street."

Tyler said it appeared that a northbound car, which witnesses said was a 1990s era dark green older Chevrolet Blazer, was involved in the accident but fled the scene.

A passenger in the front seat, Tyler said, was described by witnesses as "a heavy-set blond female."

Both bicyclists were injured and taken to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact Granby Police at 860-844-5335.
