From Stuttgart to Springfield - a visit with a German Immigrant

Come for a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and then meet Gertrude Failing Groff, a 1911 German immigrant, who will talk about the trials of her ocean voyage and her search for work in New York City's lower east side and then in Springfield's textile industry. Gertrude is portrayed by Elizabeth Wood, a resident Living History docent for Storrowton Village Museum in West Springfield, MA.  Tickets at $5 per person or $15 per family and can be purchased at the door. Proceeds go to support service programs aimed at women and children.
