HIKING HIDDEN CONNECTICUT: AN AFTERNOON WITH PETER MARTEKA OF THE HARTFORD COURANT

Although Connecticut is one of the smallest states, it has a plethora of hiking opportunities, and many are right outside your door and places you pass by each day. Join Hartford Courant feature writer Peter Marteka as he shares his thoughts about 'Hidden Connecticut' and his favorite hikes in the Farmington Valley.  His hiking columns 'Nature's Path' and 'Way to Go' can be found in the paper edition of the Courant or on their website.

Peter Marteka is a native Nutmegger born and raised in Portland, CT. A graduate of Muhlenberg College, he began his career at the Courant in 1996. During his career he has been a writer, photographer and videographer.  His interests include hiking, outdoors activities, waterfalls, kayaks, parenthood and coaching (soccer, baseball, basketball games).
