The second concert in the Simsbury Historical
Society's "Music in the Garden" series is coming this
Saturday! The seven-member band
“Showtown,” a Connecticut-based group dedicated to performing the best of
Motown, R&B and Soul music, will be live in the Phelps Homestead
garden. Bring a picnic dinner, your
family and friends, and enjoy a night of classic hits and solid gold grooves
from artists such as Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The
Temptations, Diana Ross and many more. Coffee, tea and baked goods will
be available for sale. No admission charged; freewill donations accepted. For
more information, please contact the Historical Society at 860-658-2500. Grounds open at 5:00.
